PL/SQL Program Units (RC1002)

 

Course Description

This course is taught using the Oracle 9i database.  It gives students a full and comprehensive introduction to the PL/SQL programming language.  Students are taught to write PL/SQL program units, functions, procedures, packages, and database triggers using SQL*Plus.  In addition, the course will teach students to manage PL/SQL program units and database triggers, and to manage dependencies and to use some of the Oracle-supplied packages.

 

Regular hands-on practise will reinforce the course concepts; indeed, one of the goals of the course is for students to apply the techniques learnt to build upon a small accounting application for a fictional online store selling CD’s (LINK TO FAQ ABOUT COMMON APPLICATION THROUGHOUT COURSES – SELLING POINT).

 

Students will have the use of a computer.  These are provided on a one computer per student basis. (LINK TO FAQ ABOUT COMPUTERS).

 

This course will fully prepare the student for the following Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) exam(s):
