Introduction to Oracle 9i: SQL and PL/SQL (RC1001)
Course Description
This course is taught using the Oracle 9i database. It covers the Oracle 9i
architecture, relational theory, and the SQL and PL/SQL programming languages. Students will be
taught how to create and maintain database objects. The course will develop simple and complex
query skills, and teach the student how to store and manipulate data. Students will also learn
PL/SQL programming skills.
Regular hands-on practise will reinforce the course concepts; indeed,
one of the goals of the course is for students to apply the techniques learnt to build a
small accounting application for a fictional online store selling CD’s.
Students will have the use of a computer. These are provided on
a one computer per student basis.
This course will fully prepare the student for the following Oracle Certified
Professional (OCP) exam(s):
